ART DIRECTION GRAPHIC DESIGN COPYWRITING

HBC

I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Hope Baptist Church for the past one and a half years. Initially hired to create a Brand Guide to help unify their brand voice and tone, my workload has extended into several other types of projects: from monthly campaigns, to signage, direct-to-mail postcards, and event collateral. HBC’s desire to uplift their community through action over words is what’s made this such a meaningful creative outlet. Below is a sample of the projects I’ve brought from concept to completion.

Hope Discovered

During our Discovery phase, I recommended my client keep their logo as I felt it represented them perfectly, and is already an established identity within their community. However, they only had a logo; no brand story, no purposeful creative direction. When I take a client through my “Discovery” phase, I do so for two reasons: one, getting myself acquainted with my client’s goals, and two, by developing a solid foundational relationship with said client, I can better educate them on why branding is so much bigger than just a logo. They get the scenic view as the brand develops.

Hope Expanded

After a year of establishing HBC’s main brand identity, my client asked for a brand expansion. This time, they requested several branding projects with the goal of unifying their audience behind their own identity—one that ties back to the overarching brand voice and tone.

The challenge: design several sub-brands under the HBC umbrella, but each one needs to feel and match the tone of the hero brand.
